Theater Review : Bitch Sesh :The You've Got a Friend in Me @ Warner Theater

DMV native and comedian Casey Wilson was warmly welcomed home when she performed at the Warner Theater on Sunday, April 13th, along with her podcast partner Danielle Schneider. The event featured a live taping of their popular podcast "Bitch Sesh," where the duo brings their unique brand of humor to topics such as the Real Housewives and other pop culture tidbits.

Although I had not previously listened to their podcast, I was impressed by Wilson's performance during her tenure on the thirty-third season of Saturday Night Live. Furthermore, as a graduate of high school in Fairfax County, Virginia, I consistently make it a point to support new albums, particularly in light of the fact that Casey Wilson attended TC Williams High School while I attended Hayfield Secondary School.

I attended Bitch Sesh Live hoping for some adorable Bravo show chatter and maybe a couple of Housewives insights. What I got? The patron saints of pop culture Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider brought laughter back to life through their full-blown comedic revival.

From the jump, these two were on. I kept wondering aloud to myself about the exact count of Aperol spritzes I had consumed before reaching this state of exhilaration. Casey delivered unfiltered, radiant truth bombs reminiscent of Housewives taglines and Danielle showcased razor-sharp comedic timing from watching every season of Vanderpump Rules twice.

These two women explored the Real Housewives universe with determination to create fair outcomes for Dorit’s narrative alongside Erika Jayne’s latex expenses. But this wasn’t just Housewives chat. The event included Oscar-level dramatic reenactments alongside audience questions that shifted from thought-provoking to “are you okay, girl?” and a video clip of Casey’s doctor which made me ponder whether my own doctor could perform stand-up comedy.

And then—the sing-along. Oh yes. We ended with a high-energy track that transformed our audience into a unified group of exuberant Bravo devotees who danced together. During the event I both laughed and screamed before sending a message to my therapist.

"Bitch Sesh Live" recording offers way more than just a podcast. The podcast combines elements of therapy sessions with comedy performances and Housewives-like preaching. My cheeks throb from laughter while my mind strains to recall every quote and my spirit found peace. Healed.
