Single Review : Christopher Williams, "Good Enough"

ree

Christopher Williams, one of the early-1990s R&B balladeers, is making a comeback to the music scene through The SoNO Recording Group with his new ballad, “Good Enough.” Although Williams hasn’t released an album in over two decades, he has remained active by performing at various events, acting in plays, and occasionally releasing singles. He is preparing to release an album next year, signaling not just a new musical era but a complete renaissance.

Teaming up with powerhouse music executive Vincent Herbert—known for his work with Lady Gaga, Toni Braxton, and Tamar Braxton—Williams is poised to make history with his upcoming project, *War and Peace*, which will drop under Streamline TransMedia. This project is more than just a collection of songs; it serves as a sonic declaration. With an all-star lineup of Grammy-winning producers —including Troy Taylor, Bryan-Michael Cox, Troy Oliver, Reggie Burrell, and Herbert himself —*War and Peace* bridges musical eras. It combines the warmth and soul that defined R&B’s golden age with the sleek innovation of today’s soundscape.

The result is a bold, emotionally charged body of work that reminds the world why Williams remains one of the genre’s most enduring voices. *War and Peace* is not just an album; it’s a statement that classic soul never dies; it simply evolves. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Chris’s new single, “Good Enough.” The legendary Troy Taylor wrote the song alongside TreVon Waters and John McGee, who also produced it with Taylor.

Set to a sample of Cherelle's classic 1988 hit “Everything I Miss at Home,” the song features Williams crooning about trying to mend things with his lady. What I respect about this track is that Williams wisely chooses to stay current while still maintaining his signature ballad style. He glides through the lyrics effortlessly, showcasing that he hasn’t lost his touch, and I’m looking forward to what he has in store for 2026.

Final Grade: B+

“Good Enough” is available on all streaming platforms.
